Howdy! I’m Matt Tisi from sunny, sunny Southend-on-Sea. I’m 18 years old and I have just completed A levels in English Language and Literature, Politics and Religious Education at Westcliff High School for Boys. I come from the wonderful parish of St Thomas More in Hadleigh and have been to the last two BCYS trips to Lourdes in 2008 and 2009.
Joining Walsingham House is a really big step for me. I always assumed I would go straight into university life, but I feel living at Walsingham House is too big an opportunity to ignore. I first thought about living here when I came on retreat whilst making my confirmation and decided to take a year here after Lourdes 2008 and some encouragement from my parents. I couldn’t be happier to be starting this journey with a great group of people.
In my spare time, you will usually find me either on my X Box or watching TV. My favourite programmes are The Sopranos and The West Wing. I’m also a massive sports fan; I have played rugby for 7 years and have been an avid supporter of West Ham United all of my life! I have big interests in music, in particular The Beatles and Ray LaMontagne, and also in the world of politics.
After Walsingham House I am planning to study politics at the University of Sheffield, where I already have a place. I really hope lots of people will choose to visit Walsingham House this year, because as St Thomas Aquinas said: “If, then, you are looking for the way by which you should go, take Christ, because He Himself is the way.” God bless.
