Meet Michael

Michael Barwick

I’m 19, I’m from Springfield, Chelmsford and I went to St. John Payne RC School where I was Head Boy. I have been an Altar Server in my local parish, St Augustine of Canterbury, for 10 years now and have received my silver medal.

My family and friends are very important to me. My family are from England, Ireland and Wales. My Irish heritage is very important to me and I visit every year. Seeing my friends is always good and we often meet up to watch a film, have a night out and just have fun!

My main interests are football and music. I am a massive Arsenal fan and have supported them since I was born! I love music as it just makes you feel happy and is always good to have a dance to!

I heard about Walsingham House and the Youth Service when I went to Youth Gather 2005 on Mersea Island. I then went to Aylesford Youth Day and also visited Walsingham House with my school and my confirmation group. I have always been an active young person as in school I have been part of a school Roadshow and numerous youth Masses. At the end of year 11 I joined my local parish’s’ youth group and this is what helped me make my final decision to join the Walsingham House Team.

After my year at Walsingham House I hope to join the Police by becoming a Community Support Officer. I’m very excited about my year at Walsingham House! I enjoy meeting new people and I look forward to meeting all of you who come to Walsingham House this year!
